While many of Little Dragon’s biggest hits are also their most upbeat (with one major exception), they have a gift for finding elegance in mellower pieces as well. For fans of those moments, we suggest Irish producer bocuma; his 2013 release Worth Fighting For offers some of his most sumptuous and nuanced work to date. Tracks like “Vanguard,” “Cliffs of Moher” and “Document 2” blend clattering percussion and weightless synths to dreamy effect, while “1978yh” and “09 05 80” demonstrate that he’s just as capable of delivering the goods at a much higher bpm. - Bandcamp

If you have heard the previous full-length Bocuma album Summer Pylon, you at least have an idea what to expect with Protect & Survive. Bocuma produces music filled with colourful reversed synth washes, hip-hop flavoured beats, and downright creepy sampling of vocals (particularly children) and sounds from nature. Bocuma fits somewhere into the Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) sub-genre of electronica, but it's impossible to nail them down into anything but their very own category.

Protect & Survive is a multi textured sonic masterpiece. From the opening discordant melody of 'Protect & Survive (intro),' you know that the band are about to take you on a strange and wonderful journey. All of the elements that made Summer Pylon so special are present on Protect & Survive, oscillating synths from old documentaries, textures so deep and mysterious you could swim in them, tiny intricate sounds that only reveal themself on the 17th or 32nd listen, all tacked on to hazy, scratchy beats.
